Ok, I know, after 1990 comes 1991, and I should post photos of the diary I used that year…but for the life of me I couldn’t find it! Maybe I didn’t even have a datebook that year. Maybe I didn’t have a life!! Gasp! Maybe throughout the entire year I had a major blackout like the people on Flashforward! Y’know that tv show now running on channel 5 Sunday nights? Never mind. I shall finish with making excuses now.

Here’s my 1992 diary (which means this baby’s 17 years old now) – Minna No Tabo, a Sanrio character whose perpetually big, cheerful smile never fails to brighten my day. He could be shouting “I’m way cuter than Hello Kitty!!” for all I know. But he sure looks cheerful doing it.

 

The way his little friend has that bit of hair also perpetually sticking up from the top of his head, inspired my fond little nickname for him - “Applehead”.

 

 

This is where you should write down birthdays of all those people who matter to you. The same people that you want to remember your birthday and treat you to dinner. What’s a good year without some birthday cake?

 

 

 

 

I, too, used to play “telephone” using cans and string in those long-ago days, when I sported ribbons in my hair and ate lots of candy floss! Oh, wait a minute… I still do.

Anyways, I found it so charmingly pertinent that they used this imagery for the address pages.

 

 

 

 

I love how Sanrio stuff is so detailed, even the back cover is so nice to look at.
